Principal's Message. . .
From Principal Lisa Whitmore:
Dear Parents;
February begins our CSAP testing for 3rd graders and then next month 4th grade and the rest of 3rd grade. These assessments are used by the school and the state to determine if our students are growing in the areas of math, reading and writing as they should. We no longer have state report cards that are sent to parents but you can go to the Colorado Department of Education’s web site to see what our growth looks like as a district and individual schools. At this time our SFA data shows that 63.17% of our 1st through 4th grade students are reading at or above grade level. This is 211 students out of 334 in 1st through 4th grade. We are happy with this data but are working hard to increase this number. We would like to see at least 80% of our students at or above grade level this year. The standards for this are higher than in the past so we are working to improve students’ achievement. If you have any questions about this data please give me a call.

A Goal Realized
“Congratulations. The deliberate, focused, and concerted effort on the part of your teachers and principal at Wamsley Elementary has paid off.” With these words, John Condie, regional support manager for the Colorado Department of Education, confirmed what the district was hoping to hear. After three years of hard work, intense focus, and extreme dedication, Wamsley Elementary School was officially removed from the state list of Title I schools in need of improvement. -Read More-
